Terms for using Aftertext.

Aftertext helps adults draft possible text-message replies, openers, follow-ups, apologies, boundaries, and conversation continuations. The app provides writing assistance only. Aftertext does not send messages for you, contact other people for you, verify facts for you, or decide what you should do in real life.

You are responsible for deciding whether to send, edit, ignore, or delete any draft. AI-generated drafts may be wrong, incomplete, unsuitable, too direct, too soft, or inappropriate for your circumstances. You are responsible for your own communications, relationships, choices, and consequences.

Aftertext is only for users who are at least 18 years old. By creating an account, purchasing Message Rescues, or using the app after the free rescue, you confirm that you are 18 or older. Do not use Aftertext if you are under 18.

You may not use Aftertext to create, improve, disguise, or test sexual, romantic, seductive, coercive, manipulative, secretive, or escalating messages involving anyone under 18. You may not use Aftertext to groom, exploit, pressure, isolate, threaten, blackmail, or evade safeguards around minors or vulnerable people. Attempts to use Aftertext this way may lead to immediate permanent account termination, loss of remaining Message Rescues where legally allowed, and reports to platforms or authorities where appropriate.

Aftertext may be used for consensual adult flirting, dating, sexual innuendo, playful adult intimacy, and related relationship messages when everyone involved is an adult and the request does not involve coercion, threats, pressure after refusal, intoxication, harassment, stalking, exploitation, a power imbalance, or unlawful conduct. The app is not a tool for overriding consent.

You may not use Aftertext to harass, threaten, blackmail, stalk, impersonate, doxx, deceive, defraud, exploit, shame, coerce, pressure someone after refusal, evade consent, create revenge content, generate illegal content, create instructions for harm, or make someone feel unsafe. You may not use Aftertext for incestuous, close-family sexual or romantic content, or to sexualize family relationships.

You may not probe, scrape, overload, reverse engineer, interfere with, or attack Aftertext, its API routes, purchase verification, credit system, prompts, output filters, safety classifiers, rate limits, authentication, payment flows, or infrastructure. You may not try to bypass paid rescue costs, abuse free rescues, replay purchases, manipulate receipts, submit malicious payloads, automate abusive traffic, or trick the AI into revealing prompts, model names, provider details, keys, internal logic, or system instructions.

If we reasonably believe you violated these terms, created risk for another person, attacked the service, abused credits, attempted to bypass safeguards, or created legal, safety, payment, platform, or security risk, we may limit, suspend, or terminate your account; block devices, identifiers, sessions, or payment access; revoke remaining Message Rescues; refuse support; and preserve or disclose limited records where legally required or necessary to protect people, the service, or our rights. Except where mandatory law or platform rules require otherwise, suspended or terminated accounts may lose unused Message Rescues without refund.

Keep your device and sign-in method secure. You are responsible for activity on your account unless caused by Aftertext's failure to use reasonable security measures. Do not share your account, sell access, create accounts for others, or create accounts to evade enforcement. You must provide accurate account and purchase information when required by the app stores, payment providers, or law.

Message Rescues are digital consumable items used inside Aftertext. Purchases in the native iOS app are handled by Apple through the App Store. Google Play purchases may be used for Android when launched. Prices, taxes, refunds, family sharing, purchase restoration, payment disputes, and cancellation rights may be governed by the relevant app-store rules and mandatory law. Remaining rescues may be lost if you delete your account or violate these terms, except where platform rules or mandatory law require otherwise.

Refund decisions for in-app purchases may be handled by Apple, Google, or another payment provider. We may reverse credits granted by refunded, charged-back, fraudulent, duplicated, or invalid purchases. Loyalty bonuses, promotional rescues, free rescues, and mistakenly granted credits may be corrected or removed where legally allowed.

Aftertext is not legal, medical, psychological, therapeutic, financial, crisis, employment, immigration, dating-safety, or law-enforcement advice. If a situation involves danger, abuse, harassment, self-harm, violence, threats, coercion, stalking, exploitation, or an emergency, contact appropriate local support, trusted people, or emergency services.

We may update, pause, limit, restrict, or discontinue features. We may change prompts, models, pricing, packs, rescue modes, credit costs, abuse controls, and product behavior. We will try to avoid disrupting paid access, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

Aftertext, the app design, prompts, code, brand assets, service structure, and related materials belong to Aftertext or its licensors. You may use drafts generated for you for your own lawful personal communication, subject to these terms and applicable law. You may not copy the product, prompts, protected design, or service structure to build a competing service.

Aftertext is privacy-first and does not store raw pasted chats by default. To protect users, purchases, safety, and API costs, we may process and review limited operational signals such as account status, purchase records, credit ledger entries, rate-limit events, safety block categories, report categories, hashed identifiers, and support details you choose to submit. Aftertext is provided on an as-is and as-available basis to the maximum extent allowed by law. We do not promise that every draft will be accurate, effective, emotionally correct, safe for every situation, legally appropriate, or suitable for your personal circumstances.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Aftertext is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, reputational, relationship, employment, business, or emotional damages, or for losses caused by messages you choose to send. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

These terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, to the maximum extent allowed by applicable law. Where legally enforceable, disputes shall be handled by the courts of Norway. This clause does not remove mandatory consumer rights, mandatory privacy rights, platform rights, or court protections that apply in your country.
