Before you write
Your wardrobe is stored only on your iPhone, so nothing is ever lost at our end — and nothing can be recovered at our end either. If you are about to reset or replace your phone, use Settings → Export a copy first.
Common questions
Backgrounds aren't being removed
Automatic background removal needs iOS 17 or later. On earlier versions Closetful keeps the original photograph and labels the item "Original photo" — the app still works, the cut-outs just aren't cut out. Settings shows whether it is available on your device.
A cut-out came out wrong
Separation works best with one garment, laid flat, against a plain surface that contrasts with it — a dark jumper on a light bed, not on a dark sofa. Open the item and tap Try removing the background to run it again on a new photograph. If more than one object was found, Closetful tells you so on the item.
I paid, but the app still shows the free limit
Tap Restore purchase in Settings, or on the unlock screen. The unlock is tied to the Apple Account that bought it, so make sure the device is signed in to the same one. If restoring does not work, email us with the date of purchase and we will sort it out.
Do I have to subscribe?
No. Closetful is a single one-time purchase. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel. The free tier is genuinely usable and everything you add stays yours — past the free limit you can still view, edit, delete and export everything, you just cannot add more.
How do I move my wardrobe to a new iPhone?
Restoring your new phone from an iPhone backup brings Closetful's data with it. To move it manually, use Settings → Export a copy on the old device and Import an archive on the new one. Photographs live in the Closetful folder, which you can open in the Files app and copy across.
Can I get my data out?
Always, free, whether or not you have paid. Settings → Export a copy produces a readable archive of every item, outfit and wear record.
Something crashed
Closetful has no crash reporting — nothing about your wardrobe leaves your device, including diagnostics. That means we only learn about a bug if you tell us. What you were doing just before it happened is the most useful thing you can send.
Requesting a refund
Purchases go through Apple, so refunds do too: reportaproblem.apple.com. Do email us as well — if something is broken we would rather fix it.
