Privacy Policy
Closetful does not collect your personal data. There is no account, no server that stores your wardrobe, and no analytics or tracking of any kind.
The short version. Your photos, your clothes, your outfits and your wear history are created on your iPhone and stay on your iPhone. We cannot see them, because there is nowhere for them to be sent.
What stays on your device
Everything you create in Closetful is stored locally on your iPhone:
- Photographs you take of your clothes, and the cut-out versions of them
- Item details you add, such as name, brand, price, colour and season
- Outfits you build and any cards you generate
- Your wear history and any trips or packing lists
This information is held in the app's own storage on the device and is included in your iPhone's normal backup, in the same way as any other app's data. It is not transmitted to us and we have no ability to access it.
Background removal happens on your iPhone
When you photograph a garment, Closetful separates it from its background using Apple's Vision framework, which runs entirely on the device. Photographs are never uploaded to a background-removal service or to any other server.
Permissions we ask for
| Camera | To photograph your clothes. Only used while you are actively adding an item. Photos are saved to the app's storage on your device. |
|---|---|
| Photo library | Only if you choose "Import from photos". Closetful reads the single image you select and nothing else. |
| Add to photos | Only if you choose "Save to Photos" for a card you made. This is write-only access — Closetful cannot read your photo library through it. |
You can decline any of these and continue using the app; the affected feature will explain what it needs and offer an alternative where one exists. Closetful does not request access to your location, contacts, microphone, health data or calendar.
Purchases
Closetful offers a single one-time purchase that unlocks the full app. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
The purchase itself is processed by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. We never see your payment details.
To confirm that a purchase is valid and to let you restore it on another device, Closetful uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, randomly generated identifier for your installation together with the App Store receipt for the purchase. It does not receive your name, your email address, or anything about your wardrobe. This data is used solely to operate the purchase, not for advertising or profiling. RevenueCat's privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
What we do not do
- No accounts, sign-ups, email addresses or passwords
- No analytics or usage measurement
- No crash reporting
- No advertising, ad identifiers or third-party ad networks
- No tracking across apps or websites, and no App Tracking Transparency prompt
- No selling or sharing of personal information, because we hold none
Your rights
Privacy laws including the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act give you rights to access, correct, delete and export your personal data. Because Closetful holds none of your personal data on any server, there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct or erase on your behalf — and correspondingly, you keep direct control of all of it:
- Export. Settings → Export a copy produces a complete archive of your wardrobe at any time, free of charge, whether or not you have paid for the app.
- Delete. Deleting individual items removes them and their history immediately. Deleting the app removes everything Closetful has stored on your device.
If you have purchased the unlock and want the anonymous purchase record removed from RevenueCat, email us and we will arrange it.
Children
Closetful is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone. As no personal data is collected from any user, there is no children's data for us to hold.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated and the revised policy published here. If a future version of Closetful ever collected data — which is not planned — we would say so clearly in the app before it did.
